Ethiopian Airlines will be commencing the non-stop flight operations from Chicago to Africa in June this year. The Ethiopian Airlines will be using the Boeing-787 aircraft as this non-stop flight.
It will start from the O’Hare International Airport in Chicago and fly non-stop to Addis Ababa in Ethiopia. This non-stop flight will be flying three times in a week. The journey will be for 13 hours and 45 minutes.
The Ethiopian Airlines CEO, Tewolde Gebremariam, said that Chicago is the main place where their Star Alliance partner, United Airlines, is based. The flight will be operated together with the help of United in order to get the best travelers from the US. This will help them to connect to more than 55 airport destinations in Africa.
He believes that this non-stop flight will bring in more U.S. passengers to Africa and will benefit the people to people relations between the U.S. and Africa. It will also help in boosting the African economy.
Ethiopia is a country that is now drawing a lot of tourist’s attention as it has a rich ancient history and culture. The flight starts its maiden journey this summer in June. The best time to visit Ethiopia is between September and March.
