New York, NY, February 12, 2018 — Jose Hendrix, an award-winning Congolese pop singer, is bringing the spirit of the Congo to North America as part of a three-month North America tour.

The Congo Warrior tour will kick off in Washington, D.C., this April with performances planned in May and June for New York, Kansas City and California. Dates will be posted on Facebook over the next 4 weeks.

Hendrix is a recent winner of the prestigious (See Jose Hendrix winning Best of the Best in video here Vodacom Congo Best of the Best. This award is similar to America’s Got Talent in Africa. His music is a blend of universally accepted pop with roots in Africa, Latin and America and is the result of a collaboration with American songwriter Kelly Myers. She writes the songs in Kansas City, Missouri, and Hendrix records them in a studio from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

One recent collaboration is a song (Bella Signorita) Hendrix recorded with South African pop star Fally Ipupa. Another song, Kiando, was produced by Grammy-winning producer Darryl Swann (Macy Gray) and will be on Hendrix and Myers’ second CD–Jose Hendrix-Congo Warrior. The Congo Warrior CD release will coincide with the North American tour.

Hendrix said he plans to invite President Trump to one of his shows.

“I’d love for President Trump to experience the beauty of Africa and Congo through our performance,” Hendrix said. “We want the music to speak for itself. We are here to inspire others.” To book Jose Hendrix: [email protected]
