Winter Storms Cancels Over 200 Flights from Chicago

The severe winter is causing a lot of havoc in most parts of America. The winter storms on the East Coast on Thursday caused the cancellation of over 200 flights at the Chicago airports. The number of flight cancellations took place at the O’Hare International Airport.

O’Hare reported about the cancellation of more than 180 flights as early as 9:30 am on Thursday morning. The number of flight cancellations started to increase as the day went on. By 1 pm, O’Hare International airport reported the cancellation of 240 flights. Midway International Airport in Chicago reported the cancellation of 50 flights.

O’Hare airport was the 7th ranked airport for flight cancellations among the East Coast airports. Some of the other popular airports that reported many flight cancellations included the Logan International Airport, Massachusetts, and Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey.

The severe winter storm along the East Coast was the main reason for so many flights getting canceled. The passengers with flight bookings were asked to check the status of the flight before visiting the Midway and O’Hare airports.

The flight delays and cancellations will be more as more snow is predicted to fall in eastern Massachusetts and the Rhode Island.
